Bread is an important part of any meal in Southeast Asia, and Bhabi's Kitchen offers more than a dozen varieties of naan and paratha — that should tell you something. That this top-rated restaurant seems to be everyone's "little secret" should tell you another. Just off beaten path in the Indian/Pakistani district of Devon Avenue, Bhabi's is the sort of place you want to bring all your friends to, just as long as they keep it to themselves.
The owner, Mr. Syed, regales diners with stories as his wife Bhabi prepares fresh curries, succulent tikka masala and the house specialty, butter chicken — chunks of chicken in a mild, tomato-based sauce that paradoxically contains no butter. It'll melt in your mouth, though. BYOB, though you might want a mango lhassi instead.
