You've always been told not to run with scissors, though you've always found the notion fascinating. Live vicariously, then, while watching others leap, dive and jettison themselves on stage in the ballet production of Edward ScissorHands. Directed and choreographed by Matthew Bourne, the ballet is a visual splendor adapted from Tim Burton's original gothic fable by the same name. Bourne, a five-time Olivier award winner, is the only British director to have won both the Tony Award for Best Director and Best Choreographer of a Musical for his 1999 production of Swan Lake. Danny Elfman, who scored the original music for the film, also contributed new compositions for the internationally touring production. Opens Saturday, Nov. 11 at the Orpheum Theatre.
