Next to this summer's "DaDa," "Out of Time" may be one of my favorite exhibits to run at the revamped Museum of Modern Art. From video to canvas, to water and plastic, the curators at MoMa answer the question "what is contemporary art?" through examples that span decades and a variety of mediums. The main reason I'm so gaga about it: Andy Warhol's Empire. This 1964, 16mm silent homage to the passing of time captures the top of the Empire State Building in one single shot, from darkness through daybreak, over 8 hours (you're not obligated to sit for the whole thing; it's screened at the entry of the exhibit). Don't forget — MoMA stays open late on Friday nights, making it a great pre-dinner date destination.

I've been to this event and it's great display of visual art in a beautiful space that is the MOMA. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes as the exhibit showcases extensive pieces.
