SF: Put Some Spice Into Your Life

Enrique Pierce, local crime-fighter with San Francisco law firm Gonzalez & Leigh, gave us a few moments to address the importance of salsa as the accoutrement of choice for one's favorite burrito, taco or enchilada.

"The salsa verde at El Castillito has just right balance of spice and cilantro for a cool finish."

"The roasted vegan salsa at Papalote is perfect, with a creamy smoothness that doesn't feel heavy and is still quite picante."

"Even at those chain restaurants, you can still find decent, respectable salsas. Chili's has a pico de gallo style which includes chipotle and still packs a respectable punch. Chipotle has probably the spiciest sauce — fire roasted and smoky. They clearly make use of several different peppers including habañero and jalapeño. It's smooth but not creamy and they also add some black pepper."
