SF: Impress Your Date

San FranciscoSan Francisco Cardmember Pick

Kurt Collins is a former breaker and jazz pianist who now floats in and out of the San Francisco night scene between long days working on the business end of a very successful Web 2.0 company. And yes, ladies, he is single. He told us about three places to take a date to impress her:

"There's always the tried and true Redwood Room, one of the jewels inside the Clift Hotel (the other being Asia de Cuba). It's a swanky place with over-priced drinks and beautiful people. With that said, the food, while expensive, is exquisite. If you take a girl there, bring your Amex gold and plan to eat some appetizers or a dessert as they are truly impressive.

"The last two places are both venues with impressive views. The first is the Cliff House out by the Pacific. With its newly revamped interior, the food tastes all the better. The second place is The View Lounge at the top of the Marriott Hotel. The food is sparse, but the drinks are charming and the Bay Bridge view is breathtaking."
