See evidence that birds evolved from dinosaurs — among other thrilling findings — at the Field Museum's latest exhibit, "Dinosaurs: Ancient Fossils, New Discoveries," which opens this Friday. Filled to the gills with fossils from the Field's and other museums' collections, as well as quite a few newly discovered specimens, the exhibit is centered on a diorama of a 130 million-year-old Mesozoic forest in China, replete with more than 35 species of prehistoric dinosaurs, mammals, fish, reptiles and insects. Kids and adults alike will be wowed by the six-foot-long T. Rex model that walks in place, demonstrating the latest theories of dinosaur locomotion.
