The prospect of a Wednesday night out usually doesn't scream "excitement," but thanks to Happy Ending bar on the LES, there's a place to go for great drinks and low-cost fun the 2nd and 4th Hump Day of each month. Check out their Happy Ending Music and Reading Series, curated by Amanda Stern. The show requires that each reader takes a public "risk" on stage — people have read embarrassing love letters they'd written in high school and never sent, and, in a bold showing of fearlessness, their current credit card number. Musicians, who open and close each show, have their own set of requirements — they must play at least one cover song, and coax the crowd to sing along. All in all, some good clean (hilarious) fun complemented by a sexy, velvety Sinatra-esque bar vibe.
