These days, bars in SoHo pretty much all follow the same formula — plush sofas, soft candlelight, the low hum of drum and bass, and of course, a beautiful clientele. Yawn. If you're south of Houston and find yourself looking for a low-key place to kick back and enjoy a few pints in your Chucks, stop into Spring Lounge. In operation since the Prohibition era, little has changed in this old neighborhood tavern, save for the beer menu, which features 12 taps and countess spirits. Slink down into one of their old wood booths or hang out in back under the big shark on the wall and enjoy. Opens daily at 8am, for all you early risers or late-night workers.
