Next time you get up the courage to ask someone out for drinks, switch up your repertoire, and invite them out for "cocktails." Yes, cocktails. There's something about that word that sounds so dignified. It implies a sense of refinement, but has a sense of impending decadence — or so is the case at Employees Only, with its rich Twenties deco ambiance and, most importantly, bartenders who know how to pour. Specialties of the house go way beyond the usual whisky-gingers and 2-for-1's; the Provencal, a lavender-infused gin martini stirred with herbs de Provence, and the Mata Hari, chai infused vermouth with Courvoisier and pomegranate juice, are equal parts delicious and potent. Plus, if things go well, you can stick around for dinner; their menu of apps and entrees are just as impressive. Good luck, although with drinks this tasty and strong and you probably won't need it.
