NYC: Monkey Business

New YorkNew York Indulgence

monkeybar.jpgOnce a hotspot that burned brightly, only to see its lights and popularity fade, Monkey Bar, tucked underneath the Hotel Elysée, is back in all its simian-themed glory. The art deco lounge, complete with monkey murals, monkey wallpaper and monkey-themed drinks (no, not banana daiquiris) is one of the more glamorous spots in the city to sip on a cocktail — even if it does have a somewhat peculiar name like the Purple Monkey (a delicious blend of vodka, Chambord, sour mix and pineapple juice). Stay for a snack at the restaurant and enjoy Chef Patricia Yeo's Asian-infused menu.
