Uptown is definitely on the upswing, with the action centered on Lawrence and Broadway. The latest digs to pop up in Capone's old hood is Fat Cat, a luxe lounge styled as a '30s and '40s spot for the big spender. The bar serves up some great cocktails, like the chocolate peanut butter martini, topped with homemade peanut butter foam, and the brandy-based St. Valentines Day Massacre. The kitchen is pumping out comfort food in a diner-like vein late into the night with dishes such as top-notch reubens and sloppy joes. Living it up was never hipper.
